I belong to a coop printmaking studio in beautiful Sisters Oregon, Studio 6000.   I use a brayer (a printmaking tool) to  apply soy based ink to a piece of plexiglass.  Once the painting is complete, I place the plexiglass on the press bed (flat surfase) . I then place a piece of BFK printmaking paper on the wet ink.  As I turn the large wheel the bed of the press  passes under the steel drum. The pressure of the drum against the painting transfers the ink to the paper.
